Ms JODIE HARRISON (Charlestown—Minister for Women, Minister for Seniors, and Minister for the Prevention of Domestic Violence and Sexual Assault)—Hunter Sports High School student Aaliyah Kilroy is kicking goals in her football career, signing her first professional scholarship contract with the Newcastle Jets. The 17-year-old attacking player has been part of the Jets Academy since 2020, steadily progressing through the ranks before becoming a regular member of the Youth Team in 2025. Aaliyah played an important role in the team's impressive run to the Football NSW League One Grand Final this year, making 23 appearances, including 20 starts, and scoring six goals. Her achievements extend beyond club football, having recently represented the NSW All Schools team at the National Championships in Melbourne. After years of dedication to the sport, Aaliyah's scholarship contract is a wonderful reward for her hard work and commitment, providing an opportunity to continue developing her skills at the A-League level. It is particularly exciting to see a talented young athlete from our local community progress through the Newcastle Jets' development pathway and take this next step in her career. I congratulate Aaliyah on this outstanding achievement and wish her every success as she continues her football journey with the Newcastle Jets.
