Ms JODIE HARRISON (Charlestown—Minister for Women, Minister for Seniors, and Minister for the Prevention of Domestic Violence and Sexual Assault)—I would like to recognise Alexander and Lachlan Wells, two outstanding local athletes who are proudly representing Team Australia at the World Baseball Classic. Former students of Hunter Sports High School, the Wells twins began their baseball journey together as juniors at Belmont Baseball Club, where they developed a strong foundation in the sport and a shared passion for the game. Now, both brothers have earned the honour of competing on the world stage as pitchers for Australia, reflecting years of hard work, discipline and commitment. Throughout their careers, Alexander and Lachlan have continued to support and motivate one another, progressing through the ranks from local competition to international representation. Their selection in the national team highlights not only their individual talent, but also the strength of grassroots sport in our region. Their journey from playing together in Lake Macquarie to representing Australia on the global stage is an inspiring achievement for young athletes across our community. I congratulate Alexander and Lachlan on this incredible milestone and wish them every success as they represent our nation with pride.
