Ms JODIE HARRISON (Charlestown—Minister for Women, Minister for Seniors, and Minister for the Prevention of Domestic Violence and Sexual Assault)—Two local teams, Bay Buddha Babes and Newcastle Anglican Walk for Change 2026, have taken part in this year's Broken Hill to Sydney Team Chase, helping to raise awareness of domestic and family violence and promote healthy, safe and respectful relationships. The Broken Hill to Sydney Team Chase is Australia's largest virtual team event, challenging participants to collectively walk or run 1,300 kilometres, representing the distance from Broken Hill to Sydney. The event encourages people of all ages and fitness levels to get involved, with participants contributing kilometres through everyday movement. Importantly, the Chase is about more than physical activity. It brings communities together to start meaningful conversations about preventing domestic and family violence, challenging harmful attitudes and fostering relationships built on respect and equality. The involvement of Bay Buddha Babes and Newcastle Anglican Walk for Change 2026 demonstrates the commitment of our local community to supporting positive change and making a difference. I congratulate both teams on their participation in this important initiative and thank everyone involved for their efforts in raising awareness and contributing to safer communities.
