Ms JODIE HARRISON (Charlestown—Minister for Women, Minister for Seniors, and Minister for the Prevention of Domestic Violence and Sexual Assault)—Cardiff High School's talented young athletes have delivered outstanding performances at the State Athletics Championships, bringing home medals, personal bests, and a state title. A special congratulations to Carlo, Riley, Marcus and Archer, who claimed gold in the 17 Years Boys 4x100m Relay, earning the title of State Champions. Newly appointed School Captain Riley Latham also achieved an impressive individual result in the 17 Years Boys 100m sprint at the All Schools Athletics Carnival on 26 September. After winning his heat, Riley secured bronze in the final with a remarkable personal best of 10.89 seconds. Fellow athlete Carlo also claimed bronze in the 16 Years Boys 100m sprint, adding to the school's impressive medal tally. Congratulations also go to Kayde, who competed in long jump and high jump, Harry in discus, James in javelin, and Patrick, Cooper, Callan and Terry, who represented Cardiff High School in the 14 Years Boys 4x100m Relay. Competing at state level is a tremendous achievement, reflecting the dedication, hard work and determination of these young athletes. I congratulate every Cardiff High School athlete on their achievements and commend the teachers, coaches and families who have supported them along the way.
