Daniel Alexander

Ms JODIE HARRISON (Charlestown—Minister for Women, Minister for Seniors, and Minister for the Prevention of Domestic Violence and Sexual Assault) (19:54): Selflessness is often measured not in grand gestures but in decades of quiet service to others. Daniel Alexander exemplifies this through his extraordinary commitment as an anti‑D plasma donor. At just 45 years of age, Daniel is preparing to make his 600th plasma and blood donation—the youngest Australian to reach this remarkable milestone. Donating since 1996, Daniel's plasma contains the anti‑D antibody, which is used to protect unborn babies from haemolytic disease of the newborn—a potentially fatal condition affecting pregnancies where blood types are incompatible. His generosity has directly supported countless families, including his own sister during her pregnancy. Daniel continues to donate plasma fortnightly, demonstrating an unwavering dedication to saving lives and supporting families across Australia. Thank you, Daniel.
