Dr Nancy Dickman

16 October 2025

Ms JODIE HARRISON (Charlestown—Minister for Women, Minister for Seniors, and Minister for the Prevention of Domestic Violence and Sexual Assault)- I recognise Dr Nancy Dickman, an 82‑year‑old Charlestown resident whose determination and community spirit continue to inspire those around her, including me. This month Nancy clocked an incredible 240 kilometres over 19 days as part of the Run Against Violence, helping her team finish fourth in the national virtual team challenge and raising more than $2,200 to support education programs that teach children about domestic and family violence. A former primary school teacher with a PhD in sport and exercise science from the University of New South Wales, Nancy is a shining example of lifelong learning, resilience and compassion. Her dedication to both fitness and community causes demonstrates that age is no barrier to making a meaningful impact. I congratulate Nancy on her remarkable achievement—240 kilometres over 19 days—and her inspiring example.
