Eddy Moncrieff

13 November 2025

Ms JODIE HARRISON (Charlestown—Minister for Women, Minister for Seniors, and Minister for the Prevention of Domestic Violence and Sexual Assault)—I would like to recognise and congratulate Whitebridge High School student Eddy Moncrieff, who was recently honoured with a Nanga Mai Award at a special ceremony in Parramatta. The Nanga Mai Awards celebrate the outstanding achievements of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students in New South Wales public schools. Only sixteen students across the state received an award this year, making Eddy's achievement particularly significant. Eddy was recognised for his excellence in public speaking, where he demonstrates remarkable confidence, clarity, and cultural pride. He has a gift for communicating his knowledge and experiences in a way that both educates and inspires others. Through his words, Eddy helps strengthen understanding and appreciation of Aboriginal culture within his school and the wider community. Eddy is a kind, thoughtful, and dedicated young man who takes pride in embracing his culture and sharing it with others. His achievement reflects not only his individual talent, but also his commitment to leadership and cultural connection. I congratulate Eddy on this well-deserved honour and thank him for being a positive role model to his peers and the broader Whitebridge community.
