Ms JODIE HARRISON (Charlestown—Minister for Women, Minister for Seniors, and Minister for the Prevention of Domestic Violence and Sexual Assault)—Jess Butler is giving visitors a taste of Newcastle through the city's first guided walking tour of its local eateries. A keen traveller and self-confessed foodie, Jess launched Newy Food Adventures in April this year to help visitors experience Newcastle like a local. Just one month later, the business was named Best New Visitor Economy Business at the Prosperity Advisers 2026 Newcastle Hospitality and Tourism Awards. For Jess, food is an adventure and a powerful way to discover the character of a place. Newy Food Adventures allows guests to explore Newcastle through a local lens, experience its food scene and connect with the people and stories behind the venues they visit. Before selecting the eateries featured on her tour, Jess considered the feeling she wanted guests to take away from the experience. Her thoughtful approach showcases Newcastle's exceptional food and hospitality businesses, but also the community spirit that make our area so special.
