Ms JODIE HARRISON (Charlestown—Minister for Women, Minister for Seniors, and Minister for the Prevention of Domestic Violence and Sexual Assault)—Piper Vimpani has achieved remarkable success on the international stage through her recent participation in the International Talent Award program in Cattolica, Italy. Representing Lake Macquarie Dance Academy in Warners Bay, Piper travelled overseas during Term 1 after receiving the opportunity to take part in this prestigious international experience. During her time in Italy, Piper trained with world renowned institutions including the English National Ballet School, The Royal Ballet School, Dutch National Ballet Academy and Hamburg Ballet School. She also participated in pre professional classes in Florence and Rome, gaining invaluable experience in an elite international dance environment. Piper's talent, dedication and hard work were recognised with an outstanding competition result, receiving first place in Junior Classical. She was also offered opportunities with both the English National Ballet School and The Royal Ballet School, an extraordinary achievement for a young Australian dancer. In addition, Piper received the Primo Ballando Professional Tutu and Body Core Sculptor awards in recognition of her performance and potential. Piper's accomplishments are a testament to her commitment to her craft and are a source of immense pride for the Lake Macquarie community.
