Ms JODIE HARRISON (Charlestown—Minister for Women, Minister for Seniors, and Minister for the Prevention of Domestic Violence and Sexual Assault)I recognise Sandra Collins for her extraordinary service to the community through the Australian Red Cross. After 44 years of dedicated volunteering, Sandra has been awarded the Red Cross's highest honour, honorary life membership, recognising her lifelong humanitarian contribution. Throughout her decades of service, Sandra has supported countless individuals and families during times of crisis. During the devastating 2007 storms that flooded 10,000 homes across Newcastle, Sandra worked tirelessly for five weeks across several evacuation centres, helping residents during an incredibly difficult time. Today Sandra continues her work supporting the community, including delivering pillowcase workshops to help young people prepare for emergencies. Sandra's compassion, dedication and commitment to helping others embodies the very best of community service. I congratulate her on this well‑deserved recognition.
