Ms JODIE HARRISON (Charlestown—Minister for Women, Minister for Seniors, and Minister for the Prevention of Domestic Violence and Sexual Assault)—I'm thrilled to recognise the outstanding recipients of the 2024 Indigenous scholarships announced by the Wollotuka Institute at the University of Newcastle during their annual breakfast. These scholarships, made possible by the generosity of community donors, provide vital support for Indigenous students pursuing higher education and are a powerful investment in their future success. This year, 48 students were honoured, and I'd like to highlight a few: Tahlie Grace Park, awarded the MacRae Neales Shaping Futures Scholarship for Indigenous Medical Students; Tahlia Louise West, recipient of the Port of Newcastle Indigenous STEM Scholarship; Noah Bondi Smith, recognised with the Squadron Energy Indigenous Shaping Futures Scholarship in STEM and Finance; and Grace Beddow, who received the We Care NSW Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Psychology Scholarship. These scholarships are more than financial aid—they're a symbol of community support, enabling students to thrive in their fields and make a lasting impact. Congratulations to all the recipients and thank you to the donors who continue to empower our future leaders.
