Ms JODIE HARRISON (Charlestown—Minister for Women, Minister for Seniors, and Minister for the Prevention of Domestic Violence and Sexual Assault)—I'd like to recognise Viv Allanson on her retirement and acknowledge her remarkable contribution to the aged care sector and the wider Hunter community. A registered nurse by training and a carer by calling, Viv has served as the CEO of Maroba Aged Care in Waratah for more than twenty-five years. Under her leadership, Maroba has grown into a respected and progressive organisation known for its compassionate care, professional development, and community engagement. Viv's influence extends well beyond Maroba. She was one of the four founding members of the Hunter Ageing Alliance and has long been a trusted voice in local and regional discussions on aged care. Her dedication has also seen her serve as Chairperson of NSW Aged and Community Services, Vice-President of Aged and Community Services Australia, and Director of the Hunter Business Chamber. Throughout her career, Viv has been recognised as a finalist in the 2020 NSW/ACT Regional Achievement and Community Awards and named Game Changer of the Year and Visionary CEO of the Year. Her leadership, compassion, and commitment have left an enduring legacy, and I wish her every success in her next chapter.
A Community Recognition Notice is an opportunity for an MP to submit a short statement praising the work of an individual or group in the local community. If you have any ideas about people I can recognise with a Community Recognition Notice, please email and let me know!
